Revelation 7:-8 I heard the count of those who were sealed: 144,000!

They were sealed out of every Tribe of Israel:

    12,000 sealed from Judah,

    12,000 from Reuben,

    12,000 from Gad,

    12,000 from Asher,

    12,000 from Naphtali,

    12,000 from Manasseh,

    12,000 from Simeon,

    12,000 from Levi,

    12,000 from Issachar,

    12,000 from Zebulun,

    12,000 from Joseph,

    12,000 sealed from Benjamin.

Dan and Ephraim not mentioned ... Judah listed first, Benjamin, last ... Levi and Joseph counted when they're absent in other lists.

What's going on here? No one can give a definitive answer. We'll just have to wait.

I was inspired by the 144,000 thread.

Chronological list of the 12 sons of Israel: REUBEN - SIMEON - LEVI - JUDAH - DAN - NAPHTALI - GAD - ASHER - ISSACHAR - ZEBULUN - JOSEPH - BENJAMIN.

Remember how the Society loved symbolism in numbers. Wasn't the number 12 representative of spiritual perfection or something similar?

If so, then you have 12 x 12 = 144 but to show how signigicant it really is you mulitply the numbers of the tribe by a thousand so 12,000 x 12 = 144,000

It's a symbolic number representing the ultimate in spirtual perfection, not a literal number of dubbies who go to heaven.

So easy even an atheist apostate can figure it out...

    That's my point!

ANYONE can come up with outlandish stuff and proclaim it as absolutely fact!

Revelation is a book of symbolisims, its a book of a possible future, or current and paste events.

Or the ravings of a mad man, take your pick, LOL !

Either way, it is not to be take literally.

We know that God is spirit yet he shoss up as a person in Revelation and surround by some serious images !!

    LOL !
Here is the thing, those that take Revelation or p[arts of it as literal and others as symbolic base this selective view on what?
