Yourself, and yourself only. Aside from the core Prime Law against initiating the use of force, threats of force, and/or fraud against other people or their property, no one else has any right to order others what to do or what not to do.

And you have the right to rule yourself based on accurate, fully integrated information and not the factoids that are taught in "school" these days. You alone can decide whether or not you want a given object and how to use it (like putting Christmas lights up any time you please, or what kind of business you are going to set up and how to run it). Anyone that wants to order people how to run their lives "for the common good" is actually doing it for their personal good and not for anyone else.

Does law have a legitimate basis in your opinion? How about criminal law?

Does that give them legitimate authority over those who either did not vote or did not vote for them?
