Holy moly. It's been over two months! I suppose they have decided to pour the big bucket of stinky soup in the ground. These people are ghouls.

What about Cronkite? Is he in a big fridge somewhere? Kennedy? Dom DeLouise?

I don't know about the individuals you named, but an embalmed body ain't no big deal out of the ground for sometime.
I think James Brown went on tour when he died, well his body anyway. Virtually always these days, the body is kept sealed under some kind of plastic or glass. Back in the days, the casket was kept closed.

They'll bury him eventually, once they can't make any more money off this whole disgusting spectacle.

Rival relatives, media frenzy, lots and lots of lawyers making money arguing who gets what, a 'greedy corporate sponsor' that holds a chunk of his catalog, experts being interviewed on the news and talk radio, exploitation of the 'poor little rich kids', washed up performers getting the spotlight again due to their relationship with the family, you know how it goes... there's big money to be made off of the death of a celebrity, especially a weird one.

Maybe they can't bury him yet because of a potential murder investigation. They might still have to do more tests to discover exactly how he died.

What's the hurry? Plastic doesn't rot. They are having a hard time finding a cemetary that is licenced to take that amount of chemical waste.

They are waiting for "the Ressurection."

He might do a "Thriller" and become a dancing Zombie.....but for real this time!

I think my wife mentioned that they were going to bury him on his birthday. That was August 29th.

However, since Ted Kennedy passed away, that took all of their thunder - and show - away from what they were going to do - so I guess they decided to wait until after Ted was buried.

    Just a hypothesis.

I do think the decision to change his burial from his Birthdate (the day of Teds funeral) was before Ted died.

Michael Jackson burial -- and rituals of TV mourning

Given the incredible flood of TV following Michael Jackson's death, the relatively limited access to his burial ceremony Thursday night seemed somewhat surprising.

Maybe it was just the access that TV gave us to Senator Edward Kennedy's burial Saturday in Arlington that left me feeling like TV started something with the end of Jackson's life that it didn't -- or couldn't -- finish Thursday night.

If you have seen nothing of the ceremony, here's a link to video from ITN that is about as good as anything I've seen -- even on the networks Friday morning:

I am wondering how others like me who watched hours and hours of coverage of Jackson's death felt about what they were allowed -- or not allowed -- to see of the burial.

Maybe you thought we had seen too much to begin with -- and certainly didn't need to see more. I know many did feel that way.

Members of the Jackson family certainly have the right to decide how much they are going to share with the public of such a ceremony.

But I have to admit, I wanted more -- and some sense of closure to the TV commitment I made when Jackson died.
