No way I am a member of a political party and support them financially.

Oompa -- Former Dittohead, eh? Rush is quite the entertainer. He's gotten rich at it, too.

Ferret -- Thank you for your feedback. I'm not familiar with the parties up there. How many do you have? We have many parties, here, but it's a TWO-PARTY system, as far as governing is really concerned.

I find no biblical evidence that requires a follower of Jesus to be politically "nuetral."

I've always had an interest in politics, for as long as I can remember pretty much. Found it extremely difficult to remain neutral as a JW and abandoned that idea as soon as I left.

XJW4EVR - It's not an exaggeration to say that the Bible can be used to justify almost any belief. We've got lots of examples.

Chickpea -- You're very involved! I've emailed my congressman, but never written him a letter. Someone told me that faxes are good, too.

brinjen -- I abandoned the idea, too.

LWT: phonecalls too! easy and painless
(be sure to get the name of the aide with
whom you speak and then reference their
    name in further communication.... they
    generally have their own congressional
email addy too, so get that as well)

plus, during recesses you can make appts
to meet your elected officials @ their home offices

Nope, never was. I always considered myself a patriotic, Democratic-leaning Witness. I always thought our national anthem was a beautiful song, and as a child I felt guilty for humming it. I always thought our country, with all of its flaws, was the greatest on earth and was glad to be born in the USA.

Nope. I vote. I wave the flag. I love my country.

I consider myself a constitutional conservative. I am politically novice of course - having ignored such all my adult life until recently. But I am getting educated and getting involved.

Nope. I hate the government just as much as ever.
