    YoYoMama,

: To gain this reward, let all of us be determined to partake exclusively of Jehovah’s table, which is brimming with the best of spiritual food!

"Brimming?" Did someone say, "brimming with the best of spiritual food?"

    HAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHAHA!

Guacamole dip left out in the sun on a hot summer days stays fresher longer than the spiritual food you are "brimming" with.

That "spiritual food" that is the "best" today will be next year's old light and "apostacy" for anyone who believes it then. Are you clueless about how the WT society really works, or what?

    Dear YoYo Mama,

Im an Adventist and some of the spiritual food youre talkin about was takin from the Adventist tradition. Traditional Adventism and the witnesses both take the historist approach to the interpretation of bible prophecy they are the only only ones in christendom to do this and the Adventists were the first. the trouble is scholars within adventism are rejecting these positions. These are scholars who love the scriptures they arent liberals. The most recent one being Kai J Arasola the current president of east Finlands SDA Canference. The title of Arasolas thesis is '' The End of Historicism''. This is not apostate literature as the WT copied these positions themselves from Adventism. If youre interested wysiwyg://25/ http://www.goodnewsunlimited.org.au/hist-ism.htm will give some insight of the failings of Historicism.

The question all of us face is, At which table am I feeding? We cannot escape the fact that we are obliged to eat at one table or the other

    Horseshit!!!

This, my Friends, is what being a JW is all about. Being a JW means that you only ever have 2 choices in anything, which is why they are so blinkered in their out look. In or out, for or against, love or hate, black or white, so it goes on, ad infinitum.

It is so un-natural too. There are few things in life that are limited to 2 choices only. Imagine if you had only 2 choices of what to eat, beans or potato's? Tea or coffee? God or demons?

It's such a stupid hypotheses. Life choices are infinitely variable, even as you make one choice, circumstances are changing around us to already alter the next choice. There are subtle nuances and variations in our choices too.

Having only 2 choices about anything, does, IMO, a very rigid JW make!

Englishman makes a good point. This "2 choices" thing is a throwback to the Rutherford days where he started the "2 opposing organizations" concept. Either you are a Witness and part of God's organization or you are not and therefore part of Satan's.

This creates the "where else are we going to go?" complex, because everything outside of JWs has been branded as "wicked". It also makes it easier for them to believe that non-witnesses deserve to be "destroyed", since by default, they are "wicked".

The WTS is capable of burning certain WT articles into your mind. This was one of those articles they made sure you remembered.

"Mrs. Russell's request that the monthly allowance [alimony] be increased from $40 to $100, which was allowed by the Court, but which we were unable to comply with, because all of our property, except that which brought the income of $40 per month (which Mrs. Russell had been receiving), had been donated to the WATCH TOWER BIBLE AND TRACT SOCIETY." {WT Jul 1 1909 } [Donate your funds to WTBTS to escape paying alimony]

Guess Mrs. R was expected to live on "spiritual food".

    so... they've stopped postal subscriptions?
Well, at least we can rely upon those who "eat at two tables" to cut and paste all the spiritual food we need right into our own message board. LOL.
