Does the Bible say to care about the environment and animals?

Parakeet, the Scripture I quoted is from The Message Bible by Eugene Peterson.

IMO, it does a superb job of getting to the substance of what the Apostle Paul meant by the creation groaning and being in pain together as it is rendered in the NWT.

You can find online parallels of Romans 8 by going to this link:

As for my beliefs on the "glorious times ahead," I don't believe ANY creatures will be dying anymore.

But then, it's not about my beliefs, is it?

Anymore? What about the poor schmucks who've already died? Are "creatures" just ornamental stage props to be resupplied as required? Sounds like a raw deal to me.

But then, it's not about my beliefs, is it?

If it was about my beliefs, I'd have started my own thread.

But, back to the thread at hand. Despite some scriptures that advise caring for the earth, it's the "dominion over" scripture that humans have been living by for thousands of years. Animals are commodities to be plundered, just so many pounds of meat on the hoof. Humans stop abusing the environment only when their own welfare becomes endangered by their thoughtless actions, and sometimes not even then.

Things work differently in my house. Rocco plunders my livingroom and exercises dominion over me. I am his goods and chattel. I am his to toy with.

It's quite bothersome to be misunderstood.

What I meant is that The Message has nothing to do with our beliefs - pro or con.

His Will is going to be done.

    Enough said.

Just as it should be, FF. There's no being, material or spiritual, that can dominate a parrot, bless their spunky, take-no-prisoners little souls.
