The chronic failure of the world to end has been one of the main problems be-deviling Christianity from the start. Even back in the 1st century they had a fool-proof sign that the end was near: namely, people would say "Where is this end that you've been speaking of?" So, doubting that the world will end, is proof it will end. Clever and crafty! A shame that the fool proof sign is seized upon by sincere fools.
Predictably, wearily and unceasingly, each new generation of fervent Christians attempts to crank-start the issue, believing - narcissistically - that "The time has arrived", and that they are a special part of the most momentous time in human history.
In the meantime, the world simply and truthfully does not end, although Christians' vain attempts to wish otherwise do their best to make it end.
