There was a young man named Doe

    Who proved an implacable foe

    He argued ferociously

    And behaved atrociously

Until shooting himself in the toe!

    limerick, n.

a kind of humorous verse of five lines, in which the first, second, and fifth lines rhyme with each other, and the third and fourth lines, which are shorter, form a rhymed couplet.

    couplet, n.

    1. a pair of successive lines of verse, esp. a pair that rhyme and are of the same length.

So yes, I would say it is a limerick.

Is this like the song, You're So Vain where Carly Simon sings, "You're so vain, you probably think this song is about you..."

    Well, isn't it?
