"22 Think, too, of what Jehovah wants to do for you in the future by means of his Messianic King. Soon that King will wage righteous warfare against Satan’s wicked system of things. Jesus’ victory is sure! (Revelation 19:11-15) Afterward, Christ will begin his Thousand Year Reign over the earth. His heavenly government will dispense the benefits of the ransom to every faithful human, raising such ones to perfection Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Blah, Barf."

"WHILE in exile on the island of Patmos, the aged apostle John is favored with prophetic visions. He beholds thrilling events as “by inspiration” he comes to be in “the Lord’s day.” That day begins with the enthronement of Jesus Christ in 1914 and runs clear down to the end of his Thousand Year Reign.—Revelation 1:10."

I've heard it explained that the period from 1914 to when the 1,000 year reign actually begins (after Armageddon) could be likened to the period between a presidential election and the actual inauguration. Similar to a president-elect, Jesus is sort of like a king-elect.

Probably, the view that the millennium has started since 1975 is the most satisfactory view in Jehovah's Witnesses.

That is, this earth has been paradise now since 1975.
(Well, this opinion is not my real intention.)

Black Sheep - thanks for the quote. It shows that the figures no longer add up. Either the reign is not a literal 1000 years, or the seventh day of rest can not be a literal 7000 years. The WTS must be aware of the discrepencies. I imagine they hope that if they don't bring attention to doctrinal issues like this most people want notice.

“This Is the Day of All Days”

“By inspiration I came to be in the Lord’s day.”—REVELATION 1:10.

THIS is the day of all days. Behold, the King reigns!” These dramatic words uttered by the second president of the Watch Tower Bible and Tract Society back in 1922 still thrill us today. They continue to remind us that we are living in the most exciting time of all history, the time called in the Bible “the Lord’s day.” (Revelation 1:10) It is indeed “the day of all days,” for it is the time when Jehovah, through Christ’s Kingdom, will bring to fulfillment all His grand purposes and will sanctify His holy name before all creation.

2 This day began in 1914 when Jesus was installed as King of God’s Kingdom. And it will continue right through to the end of the Thousand Year Reign, when Christ will ‘hand over the kingdom to his God and Father.’ (1 Corinthians 15:24) Faithful Christians have looked forward to the Lord’s day for many centuries. Now, it is finally here! What has this “day of all days” meant for God’s people and for the world in general?

3 The Bible book that tells us most about the Lord’s day is Revelation. Almost all the prophecies of this book are fulfilled during the Lord’s day. But Revelation is only the climax of a series of prophetic books that tell us about that day. Isaiah, Jeremiah, Ezekiel, and Daniel, among others, also tell us about it. Often, what they say helps us to understand better the prophecies in Revelation. Let us see how the book of Ezekiel in particular sheds light on the fulfillment of Revelation during the Lord’s day.

    [Study Questions]

    1. What “day” are we living in, and why is this fact so thrilling?

2, 3. (a) What is the duration of the Lord’s day? (b) Where can we find out about this day?

    Hi, Black Sheep.

That article of "Watchtower 15 October, 1988, pages 10-15" is not correct.

It has disregarded completely the context of the words which Rutherford said.

We cannot trust the article of that Watchtower at all.

Well if it was correct, it would be 905 years left of the thousand years.....But......

    Watchtower November 1, 1922, page 337.

For six thousand years God has been preparing for this

kingdom. For nineteen hundred years he has been gathering

out tile kingdom class from amongst men. Since

1874 the King of glory has been present; and during that

time he has co~ducted a harvest and has gathered unto

hhuself the temple class. Since 1914 the King of glory

has taken his power and reigns. He has cleansed the lips

of the temple class and sends them forth with the message.

The Importance of the message of the kingdom cannot be

overstated. It is the message of all messages. It is the

message of the hour. It is incumbent upon those who are

the Lord’s to declare It. The kingdom of heaven Is at

hand; the King reigns; Satan’s empire ts falling; millions

    ;now living will never die.

Do you believe it? Do you believe that the King of glory

is present, and has been since 18747 Do you believe thai:

during that time he has conducted his harvest work? Do

you believe tlmt he has had during that time a failhfui

and wise serwmt through whom he directed his work and

the feeding of the househoJd of faith? Do you believe that

the Lord is now in his tmnple, judging the nations of

earth? Do you believe that tim King of glory has begun

    his reign ?

Then back to the field, O ye sons of the most high God l

Gird on your armor! Be sober, be vigilant, be active, be

brave. Be faithful and true witnesses for the Lord. Go

forward in the fight until every vestige of Babylon lies

desolate. IIerald the message far and wide. The world

must know that Jehovah Is God and tlmt Jesus Christ is

King of kings and Lord of lords. This is the day of all

days. Behohi, the King reignsl YOU are his publicity

agents. Therefore advertise, advertise, advertise, the King

    and his kingdom.

So, if we quote all of what Judge Rudderless said, we are 2009-1874=135 years into the thousand years, leaving 1000-135=

    865 years left.

    Thanks for that, Possible.

    Cheers

    Chris
