has anyone had any luck with a jw studying their history?

    Farkel, thanks I just wasn't sure when the first Proclaimes book was published, the one I saw for sale said it was published in 1993, it seems like they would have been using this book long before 1993.

    Aunt Bee, Yes, your right, they dismiss any thing that is critical.

    I love "Captive of a Concept" It seemed to have even more of an impact on me that CoC. Unfortunately, it deals with pure logic, somthing the average dub cant/wont do until he has a reason to. I thinks what is great about it is that even if you accept the whole 607-1914 timeline, AND the whole "satan got thrown out of heaven to the earth" idea, you still have a group claims an appointment based on their horrific track record. Oh, and that they also didn't even recognize the so-called appointment until decades after it supposedly took place.

    I think it really hit home with me because I think I've seen 1919 referenced at least a dozen times in WT and other literature in the last two years alone.
