The irony of that whole thing, that they would set the flock to self-editing a book about the end times because it's information had become so old and out of date, and that my husband, who is one of the most intelligent people I know, would sit there without question whittling away on it, put me right over the edge.

    Mostly dead,

That played in my head like a plot for a British sit-com.

Wow. I left in 1997 before the self editing exercise, but I saw something on here a few years ago about the publishers having to make their own edits. The impression I got was that it was just a few little marginal notes here and there. I was a book study conductor for a long time and I think it would have hit me the same way it hit you. WTF was the BORG thinking by having the R&F edit the "new truth" into their study copies. Ihad no idea that the edits were so substantial.

Just how much editing was there??? Was it an excercise that involved pulling out entire pages and basically doing a bookbinder's job???

I remember the revisions also. I was very disturbed by changes in the blood doctrine as published in October 2006 Kingdom Ministry. I kept thinking to myself, "the truth does not change."

Being spiritual pornography, it is rightfully called the Revelation ClimaXX book.

The sight of someone with a scissors and paste pot editing the "truth" is a scene right out of Orwell's 1984. It is a testimony to the confidence the corporation has that it's followers are so gullible that they will believe anything they are told. They likely contrived that editing method as an inside joke they had at the true believer's expense.
