I knew I liked you for some reason.

    Just speaking from personal experience.

I know what you mean about the economy & degrees. I based my choices on well-researched job projections, but they've all proven false because the economy/licensing has changed significantly and in an unexpected way. Now I am finding I need a different degree in order to compete better. But @ this age, I need to weigh the benefits vs. the cost. College is not cheap......not to mention the lost time.

I don't know what the answer is, really. I am trying to make the most of what I do have--connections, knowledge, etc.

What I find really tragic is that you can't be matriculated into most college programs without committing 6-9 credit hours per semester, making it inaccessible for many people. Gawd, if one course per semester was allowed, I'd have a doctorate.........

    Hey snakes,

Sometimes it is better to work a job where you have your schedule provided and clock in and out. It forces you to stick to a regular schedule and gives a little structure to your life. I've done both and I tend to put off my work until the last possible day usually, when I make my own schedule.

The cold weather sure doesn't help, but the daffodils are poking through, so it won't last much longer.

I think the days of working in one job/field are gone. You have to be prepared to adjust and change vocations. Healthcare seems to always need workers.

Keep your chin up and take it day by day. You never know when good people/opportunities will come along.

Snakes, dear, I suffer from seasonal affective disorder. My brother has SAD so badly that he moved to Arizona. If this is a seasonal issue with you, you may wish to consider rigging up a light box of some kind.

Hope you feel better soon. Spring is just around the corner!
