Thanks JeffT. I couldn't find it.....that's what I've read elsewhere too so I think it's probably true. (?)

I imagine then jws should be advised they are violating Caesar's law by not fully participating, so they should do the maximum their conscience allows, stopping short of violating God's law....if their conscience allows them to stand but not put their hand over their heart and recite, then they should stand. (?) They shouldn't be sitting down just because they are lazy and can escape punishment--sitting should only be done if their conscience requires it.

This is something that affects a relative of mine......I may bring it up....

As to the silly hiding of the flag behind the bookcase, well, let them keep on with their silliness!

"I don't know if this is a law, but I've been told that when you want to dispose of an old worn out American Flag, you are supposed to take it to an American Legion Hall, and they will collect these and burn them. (which I find odd). Hubert" --------------------------------- ------------------------- That is true, around here anyway. Our American Legion Hall has an old US Mailbox that has been painted and you are to fold your old worn flag properly and deposit it there. They do a flag burning (done properly according to flag etiquette) usually with the Boyscouts once a year.

During the ceremony of hoisting or lowering the flag or when the flag is passing in a parade or in review, all persons present except those in uniform should face the flag and stand at attention with the right hand over the heart.

"Should" is language of suggestion. "Shall" is language of requirement. The choice of "should" indicates that there will be no penalties for not saluting the flag.

    because of jw activism.

Never mind. I missed the second clause of that sentence.
