I would tell the accuser to go to Purgatory.

Of course, this is entirely hypothetical since I've never been accused of being apathetic, arrogant, intolerant, passive aggressive, or spineless.

Wouldn't telling someone to go to Purgatory be intolerant?

Hi, Anti-Christ, Bek, Elsewhere, and Gregor.

Thank you for joining in; no need in letting me and John Doe have all the fun.

    Not intolerant, but intrepid.

John Doe, are you apologizing obliquely for your boorish behavior on yesterday?

With me, what you see is what you get. If I think an apology is owed, then I give one. I never feel an apology is needed for telling people what I think, nor would I expect one from others for doing the same.

Apology accepted; you're a Northern Arkansas wordsmith and a gentleman.

In case you missed it, I didn't apologize.

    Sure you did.

    Obliquely.

I don't think tolerating viewpoints that are themselves intolerant of anyone else is necessary. Unless, that is, the holder can prove that their viewpoint is correct (and not using circular argument, either).

I do not tolerate the Washtowel viewpoint. Because they impose it on me--that is part of the viewpoint. And they do not tolerate that maybe, just maybe, they are wrong.
