I myself am a incest and molesting victim and survivor. I've never had any counseling but sometimes when I see a movie or series that deals with this topic, I can't watch it. ve been molested by a ex-family friend from age 7-12, in between that time, by 2 cousins. I never thought that I would be close to a guy ever but my husband helped me a little. I feel that I'm a stron woman of biracial background and I'm more able to tell my daughters that if someone touches you in a way you think is bad, I don't care who it is, tell me and daddy. My 6 year old has a big butt and little mosquitoes for a chest, she doesn't even like for her father and I to look at her when she's getting dressed or bathing. I'm touchy with that subject but I'm stronger because I know what to tell my daughters and I can deal with it now.

Hi Kenyata, It's nice meeting another survivor and great having you aboard here at Simon's. I'll have to admit that I'm still uncomfortable watching movies or reading books with graphic rape scenes. Having talked with other survivors, I think we all have things that trigger us. There are many survivor web sites that list movie and book reviews that might be of some help.
There are many here on this db like us. Feel free to share whatever you feel comfortable posting. Again, welcome.Seven
Btw, I'm glad that you are able to speak openly with your daughters.
