JWD closed to new registrations back in the beginning of August.
I have not heard that registration has re-opened here since then.
Since JWN has not officially launched, my guess is that it's not ready for newbies yet.
But I'm not part of the launch team and haven't been following the situation that closely so I may have missed something.

I've seen a post or two from JWD-ers who said they had posted there.
My understanding is that JWD registrations will be valid over there.

When you are asked for your user id don't type in the name you are known as. Example " IwillBeDubbedNoMore" Instead you need to type in your e-mail address that you signed up on JWD with. I hope this helps
