Does Zec. 14:1,2 advocate rape?

The Coming Day of the LORD
1 Behold, ( A ) a day is coming for the LORD, when the spoil taken from you will be divided in your midst. 2 For ( B ) I will gather all the nations against Jerusalem to battle, and ( C ) the city shall be taken ( D ) and the houses plundered ( E ) and the women raped. ( F ) Half of the city shall go out into exile, but the rest of the people shall not be cut off from the city.

Was on another board and saw this and wondered, Is this condoning rape?

Now for me initially the old JW spin kicked in and I thought no its not condoning rape, that is just a result of the ungodly persons who overrun jeruselem. But, to look at it from a thinking view point, why would God bring so much extra pain into their punishment? This scripture is suppose to be God bringing punishment upon Jeruselem for failing to follow his guidelines. Why does he have to exact so high a price?

If you look at the 2 verses, he takes their spoil, the city, property and half the city goes into exile. But it goeas to that next step of the women being raped. WHY?

It is the ungodly nations who will do the raping and plundering....they will be judged for what they do as well

I say He's keeping it real. Isn't taking advantage of helpless women what the victors usually do?

Verses 3 and 4 show how He will avenge those acts. Would He advocate or condone something and then turn around and wreak vengeance on those doing it?

I don't think so.

Not to change the subject but something else interesting on Zech 14...verses 3-4...right out of the NWT...this is speaking of the Lord's return...

3 “And Jehovah will certainly go forth and war against those nations as in the day of his warring, in the day of fight. 4 And his feet will actually stand in that day upon the mountain of the olive trees, which is in front of Jerusalem, on the east; and the mountain of the olive trees must be split at its middle, from the sunrising and to the west. There will be a very great valley; and half of the mountain will actually be moved to the north, and half of it to the south. 5 And YOU people will certainly flee to the valley of my mountains; because the valley of [the] mountains will reach all the way to A´zel. And YOU will have to flee, just as YOU fled because of the [earth]quake in the days of Uz·zi´ah the king of Judah. And Jehovah my God will certainly come, all the holy ones being with him.

compare with Acts ch 1... 9 And after he had said these things, while they were looking on, he was lifted up and a cloud caught him up from their vision. 10 And as they were gazing into the sky while he was on his way, also, look! two men in white garments stood alongside them, 11 and they said: “Men of Gal´i·lee, why do YOU stand looking into the sky? This Jesus who was received up from YOU into the sky will come thus in the same manner as YOU have beheld him going into the sky.”

12 Then they returned to Jerusalem from a mountain called the Mount of Olives, which is near Jerusalem, being a sabbath day’s journey away.

SB advocate would be a better word. My main question is why is that one of the punishments that God foretold? Keep in mind god said this is what he will bring about. In other verses when he talks abouit the nations that will do his bidding against jeruselem he calls them his servant.

If indeed these nations are doing his will and he is using them to bring punishment on jeruselem, why does that punishment have to include rape?
