Caliber, even though I can't abide men, I think you are a sweetheart. Yesterday, I promised to get back with you on a view from the other side.
Here's something I found from 1937, Wilcox County Alabama. Even though the teacher in the photograph had retired when I began school, I recall quite vividly the awe in my older siblings' voices when they spoke of him. He left a legacy of discipline and love for learning that continue to this day. They don't make them like that anymore!
