I was reading a newspaper article yesterday about groups pushing for legislation for rights, equivalent to human rights, for plants and animals. One of the "grounds" for this from the fundies is that God created Adam and Eve as vegetarians and it was sin and the flood that caused us to eat animals. Therefore, God created animals with the same rights as humans and it was our sin that destroyed that, so animals should be given the same rights as humans and we should not be permitted to eat meat, because that's the way God wanted it.
Run-on sentence, I know. But these people are pushing for legislation requiring humans to be vegetarians.
Did you see that PETA has tried to get Ben & Jerry's to make ice cream out of human breast milk, not cow's milk? Things are getting stranger and stranger.
