Do JWs ever refer to jah as Adoni?

I have noticed that since the Catholic church will be abandoing the use of the name Yahweh and derrivatives like Jehovah in favor of the name Adoni, and the Jewish New Testament also uses the name Adoni for "god"...how frequently does the WT use the expressions Adoni or Shekinah in describing their Jehovah?

I am wondering if this change will gradually seep in where Jah is more and more referred to using other names.

It seems to be that these small changes are being implemented to gradually homogenize religions.

    What do you all think?

Oh that is is easy.......NEVER !

It is all just further proof that the RCC is pure evil in the minds of JWs.

The catholic church is not abandoning the word Yahwah any more or less than they ever have.

    the name Adoni, (sic)

Adonai is not a name. It is a noun.

Adoni or Shekinah in describing their Jehovah?

Rare/never. Adonai means lord, master, etc. Shekinah is a word decribing the dwelling or place of Adonai.

Where is Jah hardly ever referred to by name other than JWs.

    What changes

Would it send up a red flag if they started to say Jehovah Adoni?

Are you sure they have never mentioned shekinah in their publications? The reason I wonder is because that word is not in scripture, but I wonder how closely some of these other religions follow Juadism.

Thats not the question you asked. shekinah is never used to describe god. It is used to describe an effect of his presence. The only time mentioned in WT publications is in reference to the Ark of the Covenant. Sorry, dont have refs.

Do you mean the shortened JAH or the full Jehovah?

The name Jehovah (not Jah) is frequently used by preachers all over the place (as I see them on TV, the local area preachers and those from around the globe), also in many Christian songs, etc. (When they say Jehovah they think they are referring to "God the Father" but I'm more of the belief now that Jehovah was Jesus in the OT. But that's another story.)

I think you are absolutely correct re: the blending of ALL world religions, from the New Agers to the Catholics to the Buddhists to the Muslims to the apostacized Protestants/Evangelicalism, etc. etc. It may not look like it outwardly but it really is already coming together. End Game: One World Religion - One World Government - One World Economy.

And thanks for the heads-up re: Adonai... I'll notice from now on if I see it being used in the way described.

As for JWs, I don't see them ever emphasizing any name but Jehovah or they'd have to change all their letterhead. ;-)

Jehovah Adonai is a odd mouthful compared to Jehovah God......

A quick search of the CD reveals.... Shekinah has to do with the light.

The last mention was back in 1991 in the TMS review, before that 1981......

Here download the CD yourself.... (Credit goes to Brinjen for the link)

    Thanks for the info ynot.

Shekinah has to do with the light.

So, maybe next time they say "new light" maybe you can ask if it's from Shekinah?

The christians have begun to personify shekinah as "the holy spirit".

In Judaism it's taught that the shekinah is the physical manifestation of god.

I think we are all going to be hearing more about this apparition in the near future.

I think it is a sorcerers trick.

    dear cameo-d...

1."I think we are all going to be hearing more about this apparition in the near future."

    2. "I think it is a sorcerers trick."

    1. why do you think this and what do you suppose we are going to hear?

    2. why do you think this?
