I remember hearing this question when I was there and I thought it was unnatural. I confess that I thought it was unnatural to love God more than you loved your significant other. After all, you are not married to God.
I felt that a proper respect for God was one thing since he is a remote spirit being but I cringed at the thought that you were supposed to 'love' God more than anything else. I felt this was going too far.
