Fading becomes ground for disassociation

I wonder if, instead of disfellowshipping them, they will start making things miserable with repeated houndings and harassment until they decide to go back just to put a stop to the hounding. Once back, they will have to meet escalating requirements in order to avoid the hounding.

Or, if some will take it on themselves to physically drag certain ones back to either their houses or the Kingdumb Hell and allow them no freedom from field circus and boasting sessions. Effectively, running their whole lives.

So it's Spiritual Darwinism within the ``spiritual paradise" is it? Why attempt to restore a so-called ``fader" to full belief? I guess for the elders, it's forget about ``leaving the 99 in search of the one."

The reason I'm coming to this conclusion is that I have evidence that elders are already asking faders this very question: "Do you still wish to be known as a JW?"

It's a loaded Q, as we all know. Answer incorrectly and you are DAing yourself in front of 2 witnesses.

This exact scenario happened to me about a month ago. My spidey-senses kicked in and I knew it was a trap so I just danced around the question instead of answering.

disassociation differs: od 155 (Organized to do Jehoavh's Will)

To date inactivity does not = disassociation under the WT "charter".

I can see them doing the above. I didn't think of that. But I'm not going to make it easy for them.

If they ask me I'll say Yes.

...it doesn't equate to disassociation yet...the key word being yet. I've been in elders' meetings where 'grave concerns' have been raised over long-term faders (of course, I didn't know about that term back then) and it was mooted that such ones should be approached and asked if they planned to return.

I myself was told by an elder that I'd have to make my mind up about returning to the WTS. If I choose not to return, which is certainly my intention, does that mean I've DAd myself?

One brother put it to me that by saying I wasn't returning to the WTS I was, in effect, DAing myself.

I don't think it takes much of a leap for this to become unofficial policy...

This is not a new technique, passwordprotected. It has been discussed over the years on JWD. You just have to be careful what you say or not say anything at all.

Mulan had a good response and I'm trying to find it.

There are so many inconsistencies and hypocrisy in the Watchtower organization. It seems that unless one is officially df'd or da'd some Jehovah's Witnesses continue to associate with the "faders" or "escapees." One may have commited a serious "sin" but if he/she was not caught and escaped to another area some family and friends feel there are no restrictions at all. I've seen this happen time and time again.

One family whose son got a "worldly" girl pregnant move out of the congregation. The mother and father who were very active JWs continued to see their son and grandson. When asked about this situation, they replied that he moved out and was never df'd. In other words, he was not caught. On the other hand, this mother and father completely shuns the grandfather who was disfellowshipped a few years ago.

Now, I don't blame the parents for wanting to see their son and grandson. And I certainly don't agree with the Watchtower policies in this regard. But I find it hypocritical when Jehovah's Witnesses shun those who have been officially df'd yet continue associating with those who were never "caught."

I have lazy elders...... sure I got the question, but we had the CO frenzy going on at the time.

Now that he is gone and not expected until next year..........it is back to business as ususal.

They only act when forced to act.

If this is true, then I guess I'll be outed in a few months...lol

    It comes down to this:

If you've faded, and you get asked the "Loyalty" question, and you answer in the negative, then you're automatically Disassociated.
