Why do people feel such a deep need to believe that some sort of creator/god is in control of their lives?
I have never understood this.
Why?

I grew up never going to church i mean never!
I never read the bible never knew the books or anything.
I was 18 and had no direction at all. the literature convinced me to join but now the literature has convinced me to leave!
I'm going back to my old roots and staying far away from religion!
Were all individuals tho and if it makes you happy and not crazy like the Borg then go for it!

Believing in God gives meaning in what (often) seems like a futile existence. If you believe in God, you can convince yourself that things will indeed get better, that the whole drudgery of life will be made worthwhile in an idyllic afterlife.

Maybe there is a God gene. An innate desire and ability to experience transcendental states.

If there is, then I have it. Spirituality runs in my blood.
I don't remember a time when I didn't believe in God.

Humanity has a spiritual need........

I stopped for a while. It didnt work for me.
