Why is the murder rate going down?

  Many people flee to the WBTS because of all of the negativity in the world, perceived or real. "The world is going to hell in a handbasket" is the general belief of most Witnesses, especially those who are of middle to low income and have to deal with the unpleasantness of things a little bit more than the well-to-do Witnesses who may have their paradise right now.

  Anyway, something spurred me to check statistics. It's no secret to anyone that crime in the United States exploded after drugs came on the scene, specifically cocaine and later crack. The eighties and nineties were horror stories.

  However, many crimes are on the decline. What is more shocking than I might have guessed, though, is that the murder rate is dropping and is almost as low now as it was in 1960 (as of 2006).

  Not that that site isn't credible, but I checked the official FBI Uniform Crime Report and you are correct. Crime is down in all areas.

  It looks to me like rape is DOWN 4.3 percent.

  To try to make a correlation between rape and porn is idiotic. If anything porn makes rape go DOWN...

  These things are cylical. The last time I looked at any stats the prison population is up. This is a direct result of the crack down on crime reaction to what was going on ealier. More people in prison = less criminals on the streets.

  I read somewhere, just so you know the credibility of the article, that attributed the drop in violent crime to legalized abortions. It is a politically incorrect relationship, but when you think about it, there is some logic to the reasoning.

  Yeah. LOL. Also, violent video games seem to reduce real world violence. People get rid of their aggression virtually.

  There is, even though it does not justify the practice. Also, the median age has been creeping up over the years. Older people commit less crimes. BTS
