That's because for most of the 20th century the majority of Europe was a communist cult, and the few countries that weren't were still heavily influenced by it. Give people choice and it is a whole other matter. So while it may be more dangerous to live in my country, I am thankful I have freedom of speech and religion.

The article mentions strong disparities within the US, so presumed communist influence is no argument.

For example the northeastern New England states compared to the south. Btw, only 6 (+ East-Germany) of the current 27 EU members signed the Warshaw Pact, the others were part of the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation. Communism is a marginal part of EU history.

So, to ignorance of biology and physics, we can now add history and politics. Do you know anything about anything?

You know scholar... I mean junction guy. You really show your metal in these threads. Your foolish redneck agenda is blown out of the water again and again and do you learn? Do you 'take in accurate knowledge?' No, you just move on to a different thread and shout the same stupidity again.

Sadly you and others of your ilk (ilk are big deer!) are no better than the watchtower society preaching 'ignorance is bliss...'

And you atheists are vicious jerks.

And yes here in the USA there are areas that are more prone to socialism, that may explain some of the disparity.

Now, now. You're allowed to throw tantrums in the threads you start yourself but please try to behave like a big boy when you're a guest on someone else's thread.

In this instance for Funky Derek, for alleging I'm a redneck, which I am not, and 2 for those who not only like to mock my country, but also the region I live in.

Can you discuss Atheism without resorting to this?

Or when someone does make a valid point, is the only way out of it is to mock them call them bible thumpers, bigots, etc etc etc.

This is what I am referring to.

History of 20st century Spain was violently dominated by the socialism hater Franco.

Only after the transicion under socialist Felipe Gonzales, Spain became a thriving member of the EU with a booming economy finally characterized by openness and freedom.

Chauvinism shouldn't impede critique based on evidence. Perfection doesn't exist in this world and every country has its own problems. But when you are accused that your thinking is the source of all societal misery and pain, I feel the internal urge to compare such a statement with facts, all the more so when you're labelled a vicious jerk.
