Ah. How beautiful! Keep them coming!

Here is a comparison of Segovia Bream and Yepes playing "Capricho Arabe"

And here is Bream playing "Mallorca" (which makes me think of my G. Grandfather who was from there).

    JK666,

I didn't mention Al Di Meola on this thread to say that he is the "best of the best," just that he is one of the higher echelon. The song was beautiful, as all of the three guitarists had respect for the other's talents. There was a mutual give and take, without any of them demanding greater prominence.

I agree, and my comment was not to suggest that this thread is a competition. As I noted Al Di Meloa is a great player, one of the best in the world, which further elevates the playing of Paco De Lucia when you see them playing together. That was my point.

Every so often a musician emerges who is beyond merely being musical, he lives in the music. De Lucia is such a person. McLaughlin is himself an extraordinary player, but imo has never quite lived up to the expectations that one hoped for as presented on his first album 'Extraploitation' in the late 60's. I have all his recordings, but this one is still the most inventive. Sometimes I think musicians go on the road too much and get stuck in musical routines.

I remember Larry Coryell explaining to me how this happened to him and how a few years into touring and clubbing he took a sabbatical for a year and re-learned how to play the guitar! Went back to guitar school. He was amazed how many bad habits that he had picked up. Somehow De Lucia has avoided this trap.

Larry Coryell and Paco De Lucia - stunning playing from both:

I will post the MIles Davis version of this piece as it is interesting to show how classical music can inform jazz

I can't do classical. Sad for me! And my Ovation sits collecting dust. Guess I should twang it again!

MIles Davis? This is not much to ask to indulge.

It gives an idea for a future thread.
