Assembly day one - less than two hours attended

    I personally feel I did not benefit from the misguidance from the "holy" spirit. All it wanted was to usurp my drives and siphon them off in the misery that is field circus.

    And I don't feel any worse off now that I no longer accept the "holy" spirit or its misguidance. Independent thinking and a few core, common sense principles are all I really need to guide me. Rather than letting some organization or some God force me to create reality where it isn't there, I would rather use reality as a guide to help me make my own decisions. And any interference from the "holy" spirit is most assuredly unwelcome.

    She really did not say much about the assembly except it was "nice" and she said that the speaker was really good

    I am completely and utterly convinced that a speaker on the first day of an assembly could read the Communist Manifesto and the only thing anyone would remember about it was that "the speaker was really good".

    (Aside: I don't know why I thought of this, but something about JWs complimenting any speaker for no reason other than that he spoke got me thinking about the slide shows they used to show at the KH when a speaker couldn't make it and how much everyone seemed to like them. I remember one that had some stuff about sheep and goats in it; afterwards an elder had to get up and explain that there had been New Light™on the subject since.)

    Incidentally, the chick who posted those videos on YouTube (who lists "Serving Jehovah God" among her interests) is wearing exactly the same shirt that I have on right now in some of her vids. As JWs do not believe in coincidence, I wonder what that would be supposed to mean.

    In that thread one of my questions deals with her wanting to read and learn from the Bible...what can I do to keep her focused in that direction.....

    Am too dealing with a hangover today, too much JD with a neighbor.....
