Yes, and the only difference between jws and other cults like Waco, Jonestown, etc. is that the jws follow a group of men (the gb), while the others follow individual men (David Koresh, Jim Jones, etc).

Yes, it's a cult. It follows all the guidelines of a high-control group.

It's most interesting that some are either not convinced "cult" is proper for JWs or that at least they are uncomfortable with the label. To me, they are as much a cult as the Scientologists or Hare Krishnas. (sp)...Of course I believe the Roman Catholic Church is one of the most cultic groups I've seen.

Like you, Minimus, I thought they were not a cult. My position was that they were a high control group.
I've since changed my mind, and am quite comfortable calling them a cult. 100% cult. Absolutely.
