I just saw it and I agree that its not his best, but definitely an excellent movie... although some may not agree. I liked it.

However, did anyone else see this movie as being about US Foreign policy i.e. the imperfect superhero who tries to get the job done while leaving a lot of problems in the wake? The eagle imagery? The surly behavior? The inability to communicate with the local police force? The need for a PR specialist? The sequence where he's in a self-imposed exile? The film sets up the fictionalized version of LA as a modern-day Iraq. Weren't the filmmakers being.... too obvious?

I can see that, A bit of a stretch but I can see where you're going. On the other hand, sometimes a cigar is just a cigar.

It's a comic book movie, short on plot, long on special effects, muscles and action. Don't think about too much, don't worry there's not much plot to get in the way, and you'll enjoy it.

I thought it was okay. Not interested in seeing it again but it was worth the money and it got me indoors and out of the heat.
