I'm at a dead end in my career. I can continue with all the technical training in the world, but it won't get me to the next logical step in my career, that being a director of IT. Without a degree I won't even get an interview for such a position.

I guess that they have conveniently forgotten what a big f-ing deal they made out of Rutherford being a "judge and a lawyer" (which is questionable), and Freddy being a Rhodes Scholar and a Hebrew & Greek Interpreter (both of which were very questionable).

The October anti-education Watchtower was VERY instrumental in my leaving. I researched the quotes, including order the Futurist magazine quoted, and was shocked at the intellectual dishonesty displayed by the WTBTS.

I enjoyed a thought they wrote in last years Convention release...something to the effect that 'if you tell someone only selected facts, and hide other facts, with the intent of leading them to an incorrect conclusion, it is lying.

However, that is precisly what they do with their quotes.

Isn't there a WT article, from sometime in the past year or 2, where they give an example of taking a quote out of context? The stuff bwtween the " " was correct, but because the whole thought was not included, it completely misrepresented the intent? Something about a movie review, or restaurant review, in their example?

    Anybody remember that?

Excellent thread and EXCELLENT research. The effort involved helps so many no matter whether they are "in" or "out" or somewhere in between. This is going in my personal 'Best Of'
