Lady Zombie - It is not my intention to highjack your thread, and I mean no disrespect, but I have to say that the word symposium really caught my eye. For me, a true symposium consists of discussion among the participants. It consists of reasoned and rational debate. In a true symposium, the audience members are participant-observers, with an emphasis on the word participant. In a true symposium, the audience members all observe and participate. There is a mutual exchange of ideas and perspectives.

That's what they call it, symposium. They're present at every ASSembly. Usually an hour long talk with an overall theme split up into several segments.

I'm surprised they didn't go with the demonz jumping out of the computer melting his eyes out for the perve to be looking at porn. LOL Don't they record the assemblies so if you have to miss one you can just watch it on disc or something? They really should consider that before insisting people get in trouble at work over it since jobs are very hard to find and keep these days and the bible does say to work whole souled as to jehovah .

Under the part "To Resist Harmful Peer Pressure" a little dramatization of a late teenaged guy who is talking to himself about his friend who confided in him of some transgression and then asked him not to tell anyone. So the teenager thinks that he doesn't want to lose his friendship, and how his friend said it wasn't that big of a deal. But.....what his friend did is very questionable and this kind of thing really needs to be brought to the elder's attention. Finally, he decides to turn his friend in even if it means losing the friendship.

Lesson--turn your friends into the elders and break the confidences of friends.

    Applause.

But we encourage you, brothers, to do so even more, to seek to lead a quiet life, to mind your own business...

    Give me a break.

    So ridiculous.

I have been missing 80% of the DC for the last couple years anyway. i'll take in Saturday or Sunday morning and leave at lunch. Friday is OUT OF THE QUESTION. That is all I can take before I start dry heaving. This thread illustrates why this is so.

alt (they're baaaaaaack! the vomiting smiley twins...!)

ladyz.... good thread...gives me more reason to miss the one I am would have been assigned to if I bothered anymore.

I am sure my mom is going to try to hint about going with her to the convention this year since she is coming up to my area for it ..... I will be either working or spending time with my youngest brother and his GF (hopefully soon his fiancee).... I want to spend time with my mom....but not at 3 days of horse sh*t.....

Only at certain circuit assemblies and special assembly days at the JW owned assembly halls. I have (or had) a copy of a couple of events in the last few years...taped directly off the sound/video system...so the audio/video is good quality (even if the talks are a little a lot fuzzy) .. Each congo PO gets a copy of the DVD(s) that are supposed to go to the KH library for the older ones to watch.... too bad in our congo in Death Valley (my nick for a congo I was in) they never made it to the elderly.......

PS.....just so there is no do doubt about what I think the GB is full of:
