My question is: are there bound volumes of the '89 WT that were printed prior to 2000 that do not contain the change?
Answering this question: NO - All bound volumes contain the "revision" cited above. They caught it early.
Barbara Anderson has a post somewhere on this site relating her recollections of that incident. IIRC, someone let that "20th century" line slip through proofreading, and the GB nearly had an apoplectic fit when they saw it in print. They "corrected" it right away when the bound volume was released.
By the way, the bound volumes always blank out those "send in $x for ABC publication" mail-in coupons. I guess they figure that anyone reading a bound volume already has whatever they are selling.
