I always loved Flashlight but my favorite version was by the Muppets from the Muppets in Space soundtrack.
Another good one is BRICK HOUSE from the same soundtrack - cute vid - http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Kokm6ACqvB8
Hilarious, Meeting Junkie! Too funny. Brick House was my FIRST REAL FUNK LOVE... I lived and breathed that song for quite a while! Ha!
Baba Yaga - sounds like you're from my time! Do you remember Hollywood Swinging?
Remember Brick - "DAZZ" disco jazz! http://youtube.com/watch?v=s7KDTnjrF64
Raydio - Hot Stuff http://youtube.com/watch?v=Fwgo4WbJhHU
I use to love Cameo to death! I bought their first album and continued to do so while they were hot! I could sing all of the high key parts! "Why Have I Lost You", "Sparkle", "We're Going Out Tonight", "I Care For You" - My husband and children loved to hear me sing it. That was before I got the paralyzed vocal cord. Now, I can't sing shat! I use to read the inside covers-knew all of the members names; the whole bit! They were funky!
Rufus with Chaka Kahn - Tell Me Something Good
Slave - Watching You
Six of Nine:
I can't remember her name (I think she's German or Dutch or somesuch?), but she's put out some CD's where she lays it down funktionally and sensually.
Candy Dulfer from Holland.
Had an album called "Saxuality".
