I'm changing my lifestyle for the better. I've been a bit of a slacker when it comes to getting fit, but that all changed yesturday. I've also read some inspiring stuff - we've heard it before but it really is in our grasp.

Take responsibility.... Sometimes the situation you find yourself in may or may not be your fault. But it is your fault if you take it lying down. You do not have to stay in that bad situation. You get to make a choice. And that choice is 100% yours Self Pity....We have free will. This gives us tremendous responsiblity. The "work" is an essential part of the process of freeing your soul from bondage. When you are in the depths of selfpity, free will can feel awful, a pressure and responsibility you just dont want. But once you make the commitment to maintain your body and soul as you should, to be a person of excellence and power, you discover that free will is your most valuable possesion. That is why you must avoid self pity at all costs. Self pity is an emotion that feeds on itself and steals your power. Right Vision.. Think and speak your reality into Existence. Most people think they cannot control their thoughts, but they can. Thoughts become words and actions. Make a decision right now that you are going to have a healthy mind. Another excellent practice is to create a vison of the ideal you. Carry this vision around in your head, and assume the role of the ideal you. Say and do the things the ideal you would do, instead of what the "now you" does.

You sound just like my therapist! That's amazing. She says the same thing about thoughts. She quotes from a book called Eat, Pray, Love.

Good for you to be able to do this on your own. I need the therapist to guide me, and tell me it's OK.

Sounds good. I'm not used to talking to myself - will have to give it a try. :)

All the best with your new lifestyle.

If you are ever looking for a mountain to charge up to the top of, I will share one of mine.

It sounds like you are gearing up for a journey. It could be awesome. I would like to see where it leads you to go.

kurt - I'm very ready to be on this journey, and I'll just follow my feet. I've seen your mountain - very steep but I like a challenge.

Mickey - I'm happy you got to see this - it's for everyone to draw a little something out of.

I subscribe to the thinking of Zen - particularly the idea of Simplicity. Though not specifically related to the points you make, I found this quote inspiring and complementary to the ones you present:

Only recently did we begin to lose our humanity, begin to lose the art of conversation and the art of listening to our bodies, begin to lose sight of what’s really important and begin to become robots.

    LouBelle,

Thanks for sharing that... Certainly alot of good info there.

One of the things I think about, that I learned in therapy... was that sometimes "We create our own Chaos", in our actions, speaking before thinking and staying in a rut...I truly believe this.
