It used to break my heart when my mother would cry and ask what she did wrong

I realize now how much emotional black mail that is to kids, who wants to see their mom this way.

I have heard many a "sister" cry their hearts out.

They keep printing these stupid Watchtower studies that make parents feel bad.

They imply that if parents follow certain Watchtower rules and suggestions, they will likely raise a loyal JW child. Then they quote scriptures like "train up a boy in the way for him, when he gets old he will not turn aside from it" as if that "way" had anything to do with serving the Watchtower Society.

My parents performed to the best of their abilities in raising me and my sister, and we are both now productive members of society. But they believe they are failures because one of us DA'd and the other was DF'd. And they believe this organization that makes them feel bad about us actually loves them.
