Because of the JWs thinking...that women are less then a men.
Not this fading JW. When we started to date "with a view toward marriage" we spoke openly to each other and I suggested it be a 50/50 deal. I am not of the standard belief that women are lowly or at least below men. My wife is my equal.....at the very least.
