Sick and Tired of Doomsday Crap

Maybe I'm just a "glass half full" kind of person, so just take this as a vent. This is as good a place as any to

    vent my frustrations today.

I'm sick of the constant "living in the last days" bs coming from my witness sister and the few JW connections I still have.

An elder and his wife came by the other day just to invite me to the CO's talk, and I let the UN thing out of the bag to him.

Normally, I just thank them for the invitation, accept the mags, and let them be on their way, but their doomsday attitude just

totally annoyed me this particular day, so I felt "inspired" to divulge the WTS's dirty little secret to them.

I was totally flabbergasted that they had not heard one single thing about the WT connection to the UN~! Not a hint!

They had never even heard of the term NGO! How do these people go through life so blind?!!

There are other negative doomsday attitudes that get to me, too. There are entirely too many "glass half empty" people

out there focusing on and spouting off negativities about (1) our youth; (2) our government; (3) our educational system; (4) our healthcare

    industry; (5) the country's morals....etc. etc.

Take any one of the above and you can list just as many things to be optimistic about. I think it's fine to talk about how we can improve

these areas, but the constant ever whining doomsday, woe-is-me, we're-headed-to-hell-in-a-hand-basket attitude is making me sick and tired.

It brings people down and when you lose your optimism, you lose enthusiasm. No wonder so many people are depressed! They are

constantly bombarded by the negative outlooks and doomsday attitudes from religion, news media, and people with political agendas. Good grief!

    There....I said it.

I can understand that and I see what you are saying. I happen to agree with you. However, that being said, being tired of it and ignoring it are two different things. I am tired of it just like you are, but I also can not ignore the signs that are there and the warnings that are visible. But I totally see where you are coming from.

The truth is that the WTS. has and always will be a corrupt commercial venture that was deliberately orchestrated with the intension of utilizing and manipulating the belief in

the Bible to market its published literature. There is nothing spiritual or righteous about that is there, they indeed use mind control techniques on the people that get

interested in them and eventually get them to promote their sales. To me its just commercialism with a religious flare, thats all.

Was there a ever a devious attempt to cull and make money for the leaders of this organization you bet there was.

Was there a deliberate attempt to hide this attention for the peoples eyes, you can surely bet on that too.

The hidden purpose...............Christainity has stiff competition within its self, but with some aggressive marketing savvy you can pull it off

So called spiritually empowered men can only bring tragedy and injustice toward humanity when they are being followed as such.

The JWS are being mentaly controlled for a purpose, its a publishing house therefore things must be sold $$$

    Dear journey-on,

If I weren't on my way to work I'd vent right here and now.

I get different perspectives and readings from various JWs. Just learned that an elderly and "prominent" Witness couple are angry and bitter over their situation, that of giving their entire lives to the organization and now they're ill and broke.

Did you get that evil little satisfaction of being able to say this? haha (this was a thread discussion last week)

Good for you, it makes me feel a little braver to come out with things like this to my loved ones!

To show you how ingrained the JW mindset is, however, do you know what I thought about after I divulged this stuff to them??

Even after years and years of being out of the cult, the thought came to me after they left that I may be responsible for stumbling them!!!!!!!!!!!!!!WTF!!!!!!!!!!

I had to slap myself silly to get that thought out of my head. But, for a brief minute, I thought how horrible it would be to feel responsible for their friends

and family turning against them because they find out the truth about "the truth". So many suffer for their enlightenment. I didn't want to be responsible

for flipping that switch. (Shaking my head.)

Journey on, all of your points are well taken! I would just like to add that if you look closely at the doomsayers, religous, political, or environmental, you will find an agenda that is being served by taking a negative stance. They seek out support from others of like mind. It becomes a religion in every superstitious sense of the word. The popular media plays to these people with selective, slanted reporting. A balanced, informed perspective is as hard to find as a pork chop in a mosque.

Yep, thats why I broke those connections off like a matchstick. The glass half full part of me told me I could just make new family. Hey I did. No more frustrations over it.

Self-slapping is the way to go. It's harder to ask someone else to slap those silly thoughts out of you.

    Ah, the brainwashing...!
