It must be like any other worldly profession, I imagine. Vieing for compettition would seem the natural course, to hand that brother his head. They don't want to become like he is. Diseased of morals, mind & spirit. I saw the elder that I hated the most, during my JC, who may've not had a favorable vote in keeping me in the fold, later on down the road in life, on the outside looking in.
He had a huge family, a wife who may not have been well, and as I looked at him, from a distance, I never noticed anything. Then he did the Bearded Witness thingy, at me and I realised, "Oh Shit, He's been thrown out to the wolves, as well". I never really liked the guy, but I recognised he had guts to take on such an awesome responsibility of leading his family, as well as the Congo. He encouraged me, however, once we were both on the outside, to love the woman I was with and never let anything come between us. I don't know, to this day, if he was trying to encourage me, or, in reality, himself.
I cried over that brother, right there on the spot. Even though I at onetime despised him in my hours of ignorance. I wonder, often, of the sanity the brother may have left. He was a, from the ground up, Witness, and has never really known any other life.

Couldn't he just say she seduced him? I mean, isn't that what all us worldies do most of the time anyway?

Confession
It really all depends on the evidence. Assuming this elder is not so virtuous--and assuming he really did "come on" to her, we might also assume that he's not going to be honest about what happened. And if not--and if there was no corroborating evidence--it becomes one person's word against another's. He could flatly deny he did it, or could just say that she misinterpreted it, which (let's face it) does happen sometimes.
If there is corroborating evidence--or he confesses to it--he will very possibly lose his position as elder, especially so if this information becomes known to others in the congregation. There might even be further action taken toward reproving him.

BreakingAway
Yes, there are a lot of different factors that could affect what action is taken. If he's in tight with the rest of the elder body they likely will just "counsel" him.Since this is a "worldy" woman then she's not around to put up a stink and knowledge of the occurence probably was made know through gossip. If she is attending the cong. as a study, friend of someone, etc. and made this known only to the elders then he would probably just be counseld about it.If she was telling others, he would might be put on some restrictions as an elder.Yes, that does happen.Maybe not doing a book study or parts for a while.
If it becomes disruptive to the congregation and the accusations are substaniated then he would be probably be removed. If they don't like him then this is the opportunity they've been waiting for to remove him.Again, though, if he's in tight with the rest of the body then they'll just write her off as a trouble maker and nothing would be done to him.I've seen elders play all kinds of games and get somebody off the hook if they liked them, especially family members.

I've heard allegations of such things. No one believed the "worldly" person. JW's are not interested in facts.

Snoozy
In our congregation our CO's wife was in the hospital, so one of the sisters offered to come over and help him with all the paper work he was piling up. Well they ended up having a sexual encounter. Her conscience got the best of her and she told. He got disfellowshipped and she got probation. When her probation was up one of the brothers in the KH wanted to start dating her. They were probably in their late 20's or early thirties.
The funny thing is that the whole time they were dating they always insisted on having a chaperone. Every time!
Well they finally got married and at the wedding his kiss was taking a very long time. We were all laughing as they obviously didn't want to stop. They later announced why:
The reason was you see..it was their FIRST kiss...they had never kissed the whole time they were dating.
I really cared for that couple..they were one of the nicest in the congregation.
Never heard about the CO again..wonder what happened to him and his wife?
Snoozy..
