    I love this song. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7sjSHazjrWg

    Peace Train

(I think many of us could use some of that just about now)

Now Ive been happy lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

Oh Ive been smiling lately, dreaming about the world as one
And I believe it could be, some day its going to come

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Now Ive been smiling lately, thinking about the good things to come
And I believe it could be, something good has begun

    Oh peace train sounding louder
    Glide on the peace train
    Come on now peace train
    Yes, peace train holy roller

Everyone jump upon the peace train
    Come on now peace train

Get your bags together, go bring your good friends too
Cause its getting nearer, it soon will be with you

Now come and join the living, its not so far from you
And its getting nearer, soon it will all be true

Now Ive been crying lately, thinking about the world as it is
Why must we go on hating, why cant we live in bliss

Cause out on the edge of darkness, there rides a peace train
Oh peace train take this country, come take me home again

Wasn't too sure about a song to describe my exact feelings right now, but this one describes last night pretty well:

Sitting Here Lyrics by Marc Bolan and T. Rex

Sitting here, I don't care for you
Sitting there, you don't care for me
But I think we're in love
    Ain't that funny

Sitting there, you don't care for me
Sitting here, I don't care for you
But I think we're in love
    Ain't that funny

Oh love's a wonderful thing that comes and goes
Even when I'm pickin' my nose

Ooh sitting here, you don't care for me
Sitting here, I don't care for you
But I think we're in love
    Ain't that funny
    Yeah yeah

Sitting here, I don't care for you
Sitting here, I don't care for you
And I think we're in love
    Ain't that funny

Firing the Surgeon General Words and Music by Roy Zimmerman
© 1995 Watunes (BMI) (From "Folk Heroes" [Reprise])

    You can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
'Cause I'm firing the Surgeon General

    You can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
'Cause I'm firing the Surgeon General

I used to flog the dolphin
    Used to choke the chicken
    Used to spank the monkey
Used to fool with the tool
I used to whip the bishop
    Used to wax the weasel
But now I learned one they never taught in school

    You can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
'Cause I'm firing the Surgeon General

I used to whack the Bobbitt
    Used to knead the noodle
    Used to charm the cobra
    Used to ponder pointillism
I used to free the willy
    Used to Pat the Robertson
But now I got me a new euphemism

    You can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
'Cause I'm firing the Surgeon General

I used to think I'd need analysis
    Get phalluses full of calluses
    Go blind, lose my mind
    Be romantically disinclined
I used to think I'd never be mollified
Or qualified at all if I'd
Go to work as a clerk
Try to be anything but a jerk

But now I wanna dance and shout
I'm jumpin' like a trouser trout
'Cause I found a way to bat it
And make a living at it
    Yeah, I got into politics
    And I'm never comin'
    Never comin'
    I'm never comin' out

    You can't come in
I hear you knockin' but you can't come in
I check the lock 'n' say you can't come in
'Cause I'm firing the Surgeon General
    Firing the Surgeon General
    Firing the Surgeon General
    Firing the Surgeon General

    Hey Momz,

This is my fave BLS song. It's simply beautiful and sad at the same time. Its the song I listened to over and over and over as I made up my mind to go on with my life and leave that JW mentality behind (or at least work on that!).

My hubby and I love Zakk, Ozzy, Steve Vai. Ozzy has had the most awesomely bad guitar players ever!!

OH and hubby played me two Ozzy songs I hadn't heard last weekend, they were beautiful and had some kinda spiritual overtone. I'll have to ask him the name of them so I can pass them along to you. He's always finding those hard rock boys' softer songs for me. He's such an angel (but he wears the devil's blue jeans--lol)

Ok, I know you are all going to say I'm just an old romantic goose but I just love this song anyway. Can't find lyrics but you can just listen to it on youtube

I promised myself that I would only come here long enough to have breakfast as I have a lot to do. This thread caught my eye. Will come back tonight for a while.

Chalam: Funny, I was listening to this a couple of days ago. I started with the Rod Stewart version and was going to post the Impressions version.

Rod Stewart's version (just close your eyes when he starts dancing though): http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=YHnrErEGs7k

Worldtraveller: I posted this version of Beethovens Ode to Joy a while back. It's actually his 9th.

    AWAKE&WATCHING

This song has been running through my mind the last few days. It's about losing her lover, but in my case it's my daughter and her baby that I'm thinking of. I had to get out of the hospital for awhile.

    Sarah McLachlan - Hold On

Hold on hold on to yourself
For this is gonna hurt like hell
    Hold on
    Hold on to yourself
You know that only time will tell
What is it in me that refuses to believe
This isn’t easier than the real thing
    My love
You know that you’re my best friend
You know I’d do anything for you
    My love
    Let nothing come between us
My love for you is strong and true

Am I in heaven here or am i...
At the crossroads I am standing
    So now you’re sleeping peaceful
    I lie awake and pray
That you’ll be strong tomorrow and we’ll
See another day and we will praise it
And love the light that brings a smile
    Across your face

Oh God if you’re out there won’t you hear me
I know that we’ve never talked before
Oh God the man I love is leaving
Won’t you take him when he comes to your door

Am I in heaven here or am I in hell
At the crossroads I am standing
    So now you’re sleeping peaceful
    I lie awake and pray
That you’ll be strong tomorrow and we’ll
See another day and we will praise it
And love the light that brings a smile
    Across your face...

    Hold on
    Hold on to yourself
For this is gonna hurt like hell

    Awake and Watching

I have gone nuts over that song since the first I heard. It is a good one to get it all out to. A real tear jerker.
