Whenever you buy something new, do you take an extended warranty?

It only makes sense if the product in question is something new (like a plasma TV was 10 years ago), a rear projection TV that has expensive light bulbs that blow and need servicing to replace them, or a laptop computer. Most other things will either break within the standard warranty or just after the extension expires. In neither case will the extended warranty pay off.

I never buy them. I noticed the warranties weren't offered on all products so I figure they are offered on products that wont fail anyway.
