Perhaps light can be shed on this? I took this to be a real event. I could be wrong. Can anyone confirm/deny? Jeff

I posted a topic about this a few months ago. As some have pointed out, this event was made into a short movie. The link to my prior thread contains links to the movie itself. The parallels to JWism are striking.

I am so sorry, the wording of my previous post is not what I meant at all! I just meant to say that I didn't recall the teacher saying whether or not the event happened. The OP and the follow-ups posted later were more than apparent in showing it was real.

On election day, my precinct votes in the small auditorium where the class experiment ended. But since we've all switched over to touch-screem voting, I only vote absentee now. I find it a little funny that the movie version depicts the school as a bit more beautiful than it really is.
Here are some articles at the time from the school newspaper. The first, from the 4/7/1967 issue of the Catamount, was written while the experiment was still taking place:

Here is something you may find interesting.
About 1990-92 I attended the BCRI conference of ex-jw's at Atlanta, Georgia. At the end of the three day conference while everyone was just finishing their supper. Someone showed this film on the TV(?, or movie?) screen. It was not a part of the conference's program. After the showing a commotion started, coming from one of the other rooms. Someone was very angry, speaking in a loud voice with a foreign accent. Evidently, it was a German man, who lived through Hilter's era. He was of the opinion that it was a twisting of the facts of that era. He still thought that Hitler had done a lot of good for Germany.
I was somewhat embarrassed afterwords, no one discussed it and everyone left. Some of the details I can't remember. Others who were there may remember more of what happened. I know Grace Gough was there, she may remember more. Also Ray Franz was there.

Belbab - Very interesting. How deep did that guys denial go? There is a Middle Eastern leader who also proclaims that the Holocaust was invented.
