When I'm on the road and have to choose between...

    1. Gas.
    2. Beers & burgers

...guess what wins? It ain't gas.

Now that I'm single again it's not an issue because I don't have a spouse trying to manage the purse strings.

Now I can have it all!

Give it a couple more years and you'll be going for option 3. A pee stop!

I thought that is what the hole in the floor and long funnel is for!

I hope the guys behind me have good windshield wipers.

I drive a couple of similar units..both have the low fuel lights/buzzers. Both are accurate. When they come on I have 4 gallons left out of 27 total. Thats a 60 mile warning for me at average speeds.

I use at least one tank per week. So the established pattern is to drive to near empty and fill it up.

Out west, when I drive on businness I fill up a little sooner as gas stations can be much further than the reserve will take me.

And yes.. I have run out of fuel about 4 times in my life.

Just a note that it is not good for fuel pumps in gas tanks to be left to dry out , most fuel pumps are placed inside the tanks in

modern cars as part of the fuel injection system.

When the tank is full of course the pump is soaked in gas , when the tank is almost empty the pump is exposed to air

and can build a scale film around the filter

For most cars its best to put some gas in when it reads empty , there still are a couple of gals. in the tank and everything should be alright

but don't make a habit of it , at least try not to
