Many years ago when my mom first started shunning I would send her a card for every crazy holiday on the calendar including, ground hog day, flag day, earth day, etc. I stopped doing that after my brother pointed out to me it was mean and vindictive and made me look a little crazy.
Every year on her birthday I would call her and say in my best game show announcer voice.."Oh, Happy Day". This is the first year I let go by without wishing her a happy day.
