Just so some of us may know?

Is it just a weekend brow beating, or something more sinister.

I ask because of the rumor going around about the special one coming up.

I guess I will be the first to address your question.
The elders school is not a browbeating. It is highly procedures covered from the
elders manual and any letters. They cover subjects like overseeing meetings and
going on shepherding visits and forming judicial committees that will best serve the
organization, then keeping those committees with the first concern for the cleanliness
of the congregation (cult-speak for protecting the organization above the individual).

I have attended 4 or 5 in total, actually never making it to the school for MS's
(as timing caused me to go from appointment as MS to appointment as elder inbetween
schools). The ones I attended were always 1.5 days (Friday and Saturday)

Actually, notes were mostly made in the margins of the elder book. Other notes were
not mandatory, but requested. There were never any tests, and commenting was voluntary.
I was at some schools that were so large that commenting was only done by a small
    section of ULTRA ass-kissers.

We were just supposed to be thrilled to get all this procedural information. Naturally, scriptures
were read out of context to prove that this was actually a spiritual event.

    Elder's School- What is it?

A waste of time and energy.

They all sit around and roll D+D dice to decide who gets to wear the moose antlers.

Then the rest of them put on elk antlers.

Then they pass around a ~1978 copy of Playboy and giggle like schoolboys.

Then they compare notes on who got an unexpected fortuitous sneek peek at a sister's thighs when she crossed her legs at the Theocratic Ministry School. Bonus points for seeing skin above knee-highs.

Then they compare janitorial techniques for getting out tough fecal stains in the carpet outside of corporate restrooms (Men's room, mainly).

Then they see who can make the best armpit-fart sounds.

Then the PO declares that the meeting is a success and they say a prayer (by whom, decided by paper-scissors-rock)

They they get into their vans and drive home.

I don't want you to think this was as boring as a Circuit assembly.

When Mother is telling us about Judicial procedure and how to handle
cases of a sexual nature, it ain't boring.

One school had much procedure about the new TMS format to go with
the new School textbook. When you have to work so hard for the borg,
seeing how you should do it is not boring.

Elders do tend to feel special after receiving this information.

They issue an updated torture manual and kink a few scriptures for good measure. If the congregation owns a rack, they show you how to oil and lube it for maximum effectiveness.

Then they break for lunch and look for the biggest asses they can find to kiss.

    That's your opinion.

    Most are pretty bored.

I remember spending a lot of time on procedures. How to do the accounts, how to do the audit, and so on.
