    Locutus of Borg:

OM, it's not often that a post here touches my soul as yours has.

Thanks L of B. That made it worthwhile. And thanks for sharing Dan F & Heather with us as well. So many good people. So little time.

    journey-on:

To have known this lady and to have connected with her the way you did considering the big age gap is absolutely a blessing of deep communion.

    Yes it was. Nicely put.

    Tula, Nvr & franzy:

Thank you for the kind words.

    A. If this life is all there is, then this thread is dedicated to living life Clarice's way.

    B. If good people go to Heaven: "Hello Clarice! Thank you for your wisdom. I love you and miss you."

    C. If the paradise fantasy is true: "Let's go tackle Mt. Whitney together Clarice!"

    I loved this.

It is an amazing thing, isn't it, to have had one soul touch another in such profundity. Two souls melded, so different, yet so same.

I am struggling in election of A, B or C myself. Yet, the bond of two humans in spirit is unforgettable. Perhaps immortal, who knows?

Thanx for sharing, and thanx for the PM my friend.

I have walked in those mountains that Clarise loved. Your reflections of those dear moments were touching. Well done.

    Thanks Jeff,

I appreciate you taking the time to read and respond.

I'm leaning towards A, but if some variation of B or C ends up being true, well, I won't be fighting the Divine on that. I like these words of yours:

Yet, the bond of two humans in spirit is unforgettable. Perhaps immortal, who knows?

Here on JWD it is so refreshing to be able to rub shoulders with people of all different backgrounds and beliefs and (usually) maintain a common bond of humanity.

    Take care Jeff,

This is the "John Muir" quote I was looking for when I first wrote my tribute to Clarice. I couldn't find it.....

...Because it wasn't from John Muir!

"Something hidden. Go and find it.
Go and look behind the Ranges–
    Something lost behind the ranges.
Lost and waiting for you. Go!
That something lost behind the ranges
may be a pot of gold, some part of
ourselves, or even the highest spiritual
truth – whatever it is, it represents an
    answer to our deepest longing."

Rudyard Kipling, English novelist and poet born in India, 1865-1936.

I just stumbled across it today on another site and Clarice's sparkling eyes and ready smile came flooding back to me.

Hope you enjoy the read if you didn't see it the first time.

Dedicated to Clarice and all the older, dear-ones-not-assimilated whom we've known and loved.

    Absolutely beautiful. Definitely unforgettable.

    Thank you, OM!
