  Golden Age 10/25 1933 p.57 "Infeebled constitutions, inherited from fashionable mothers, cannot stand up under tobbaco..."

  Yes only weak, momma's boys,don't smoke! Good medical advice? Watch 2000 10/1 p.29 tells us that this same editor Clayton Woodworth in 1951 had his voice box removed due to Cancer brought on by years of smoking. Just months later in Dec 1951 he died.

  Clayton was a strange fellow, when visiting Brothers he would speak of himself in the third person calling himself "The Canvasser" {Yearbook 85 p.228} E.g "The Canvasser delivered his speach today." Wierd! He didn't like terms such as church, religion, elder...so "The Canvasser" was his title. He hated doctors, check it out.

  G.A 1931 8/5 p.727 "Medical science grew out of egyptian black-magic, and has not lost it's demonic character." In Faith on the March p.188 Brother Mcmillan speaks about a group of brothers in prison during WW 2 who refused to take their vaccinations, and were sent to solitary confindment. He convinced these scared Witnesses it was safe by first vaccinating himself. Why the fear?

  G.A 1/21 1923 p.214 "Rabies vaccine...when it has been shown there is no such thing as rabies...it's a mental hoax...vaccine is the most unhygienic, barbaric, filthy, abhorant, and most dangerous...causing ulcers,syphilis, T.B, cancer, insanity, death."

  G.A 1/16 p.250 - 8/25 p.751 1926 "It has never been proven that a single deaseas is caused by germs...it is caused by fermentation and heat...not germs..."

  G.A 2/10 1926 p.310 "Air baths are good for preventing colds...what you do is strip naked in the morning and bob up and down for awhile."

  CONS. 12/1 1937 p.12 "In L.A a youth choked a woman of 75...he claimed the urge to kill came from a serum innoculation."

  GA 2/4 1931 p.293 "Vaccinations are a violation of God's eternal covenant made with Noah...is a connection between vaccinations and the spread of demons and immoral sex."

  Even in the 1940's McMillan knew vaccinations were okay, as did Franz and Knorr. Out of respect for Woodworth they waited till afew months after his death to kill his pet project. in Watch 1952 p.764 "Vaccinations...Our society cannot afford to be drawn into the affair legally, or take responsibilty for the way the case turns out...It is NOT a violation of the covenant with Noah...has no relationship to iter-marriage of Angelic Sons of God with the daughters of men...not same as...sexual mingling of humans with animals...it has nothing to do with sex relations.

  So embarrased were these men by Woodworths ramblings they changed the name of the Magazine to Awake to further distance themselves from his right-wing theories.

  This is interesting

  The only person who could tell Woodworth what to due was Rutherford.

  Woodworth appears to have been a very opinionated and strong will individual. This gives some insight as to the type of men who ran the Watchtower during the first half of the 20th century.

  Franz = "The Oricle"

  Knorr = "The brown nose" {to Rutherford}

  So much for having no "titles."

  The judge to me seems like the biggest asshole of the bunch, this guy was truly a power playing opportunist if there was one !

  Picture a fat cat with a cigar in one hand and a glass of whiskey in the other, wearing a tailored suit, driving down a street in a brand new Cadillac which only millionaires could afford

  and most of the time escorted by bodyguards caring canes to use as weapons.

  And this individual was suppose to be the head of god's only true voice on earth, spiritually guided by his holy spirit.

  Thats so laughable whenever I read about this jerk of a human being,

  I think if the general public saw for themselves who and what he was maybe they would have second thoughts, I would also guess that he kept himself hidden behind the

  curtain for a good reason.

  "The Canvasser" was refering to his canvassing or covering an area with preaching. Like Avon "canvasses" houses with perfume products.

  It's more of a buissness term. Woodworth banned any religious terms like "preacher," "pastor," "religion," "congregation." etc. Remember when the society called congregations "companies" and forbid using the term "religion" to discribe the orginization. Everything had a buisseness term back then. Even Rutherford was called Judge instead of Pastor...even though he only filled in once as a minor Judge. That was the era.

  There is a profound business structure within the organization particularly in it's earliest beginnings

  it is also interesting how over the years they have put a veil over that very structure and instead presented a pure and honest religion

  Money and power are always the driving force behind organizations like this ....too bad it's never God.

  Perhaps after they realized how much more money they were making, with the intent to keep the tax man away the religious side was brought to the forefront

  I always thought it was strange when I was a kid why was God's organization selling so much stuff all the time and when we went to the KH we were taught how to sell it.

  Surely there was no publishing company back in biblical times when the preaching work had supposedly started.

  That's why everyone thought the Witnesses were comunists. They refused to use the term religion, and congregtion, and said governments were from the devil, the "Superior authorities" were Jesus and Jehovah, so the governments of that era assumed they were communist based, fifth columnists, or fascist. This lead to lots of banning, imprisonment and death, especially during WW 2. Today they tell us it was due to neutrality but it goes deeper then that. "Religion is a Snare and a Racket." Woodworth and Rutherford were so angry and vengeful at the churches for throwing them in prison in 1916, that they banned all religious terms which are from the devil, in the ORG. Many died as a result.

  Religious leaders remind of a bunch of crowed pigs at a trough, gulping up as many as people as possible and occasionally snapping at each other in the process..

  Interesting - Norman Woodworth, cousin of Clayton, left the Witnesses in 1928 to start up The berean bible society.

  He joined the Broklyn bible students.and began publishing Russell's "Study in the Scripture."
