At parents' night at my daughter's school I got to meet her social studies teacher. The teacher asked the parents to introduce themselves to each other by naming the state they were born in and the capital of that state. One parent didn't know that the capital of her birth state New York was Albany.
I don't know why some folks don't know where Iowa is on a map or where India is on a globe. But I can try and make sure my kids know, hell my four year old has been able to put together a 50 state map of the US since he was three, now we're working on getting him to name the states.

Yeah I liked it too but Africa should be a black hole or just invisible even tho' it's rich in natural resourses I guess the people are forgetable?
