When they formulated their shunning policy back in the early 1980's they could never predict the coming of the internet in the mid 1990's and the exposure it would give on them. For all their financial wealth and power it surely worries them. They tried to suppress freedom of speech in their org but it found another way to express itself. Being so dictatorial eventually backfires.
