I never know which word to use, the word flammable or inflammable.

The rank and file are regular people, not the leadership.

From BFD: "I never know which word to use, the word flammable or inflammable."

Worry no more because both mean the same thing.

    Words that regularly get misused:

it's - use this ONLY when you want to say "it is", in ALL other cases spell it "its". People get confused by "its" because a possessive usually has an apostraphe, but in this case there isn't one.

to, too - a way to help keep them straight is this: if you can substitute "tah" (rhymes with "the") then spell it "to", otherwise spell it "too", unless you are talking about the number 2, "two". Think of this sentence: "I want to (tah) go to (tah) the store; do you want to (tah) come too?" and "It's too bad you have to (tah) go."

lose - as in, "I hope we don't lose the game."
loose - as in, "I have a loose tooth."

who's - use only when you want to say "who is" or "who has"
whose - use as a possessive, as in "Whose car is that?"
