    Former Jehovah’s Witness— Are Hypocrites

It amazes me how these people who once donned three-piece suits
with book, bag and Bible in hand are now singing the blues .

These former Jehovah’s Witnesses, who would annoy a man and his
family early on a Sunday morning and even on Christmas day to hear
how the world was going to end and how if they did not become
Jehovah’s Witnesses would die at Armageddon, Ha!

Now these same people come on the discussion board wanting hand
held sympathy crying about how they lost their friends and family’s to
    their precious Watchtower Society.

Well, I say you got what you deserved. You made your bed now lay in it.

    Signed,

    A “worldly” man

How would you answer to the above charges?

    Respectfully,

    The Wanderer

My simple answer is that we were lied to, in every way possible. Some of us didnt choose this religion, it chose us at birth.

I would agree with him on much. I am getting kind of sick of hearing about how bad jws are, blah blah blah, like you werent one at one time. Also jws are far from the worst thing in the world. It just seems that way if you have a small world view.

    I'd say, "Who isn't a hypocrite?"

I would say: "You are absolutely correct. However, I did not understand the nature of the organization that I joined. That is the way cults work. If I had known what my experiences would be in the organization, I would never have joined." Or some such thing.

I agree with everything all the above posters said.

There is much truth in all of it.

And yes, I am a hypocrite.

But at least I don't claim to be the faithful and discreet slave. LOL!

Since this charge of hypocrisy is coming from a "worldly man", I would say that worldly man has never walked in our shoes, has never been shunned by family for insanely stupid reasons, was never squeezed into an unnatural mold at any time. Nobody who's managed to get free from a high-control or cultic situation would ever look down on another one who has escaped those shackles (edited to say -- unless they are heartless).

Recognizing that you yourself are a hypocrite is a huge step in becoming free.

    He is wrong!

    We are ex-Hypocrites.

The hypocrites are the ones who stay inside the Org, when they see all the wrong and turn a blind eye. Jesus took action! He threw the money lenders out of the temple. Are there any JW Elders or publishers with balls enough to stand up to the JW LEadership? No! They are all spineless gutless hypocrites.
